DOLLAR GENERAL AGREES TO STOP SELLING STICK GLUE TRAPS
Dollar General stores will stop stocking sticky glue traps in the coming months. A news release from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says the group urged the Goodlettsville-based discount retailer to stop selling the traps, which it considers to be cruel.>more

A SKYSCRAPER FOR THE BIRDS: AQUA GETS AN AWARD FROM ANIMAL RIGHTS GROUP
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is giving Jeanne Gang and her firm, Studio Gang Architects, an award for the bird-friendly design of Aqua. The group says that birds are less likely to kill themselves flying into Aqua's windows because of the skyscraper undulating curves and because its exterior glass is etched with marks that birds will be able to see.>more

PETA PROTEST IN TOPEKA - ALTERNATIVES TO GLUE TRAPS!
PETA is on the corner of Lowe's and 17th St. right now protesting the use of glue traps for mice, which are sold by Lowes. A PETA worker in a cute mouse costume, a bikini girl on a large replica of a glue trap - ala glue, and a dedicated PETA spokesperson are handing out leaflets to raise awareness of why we should consider using humane alternatives to glue traps for mice.>more
