About Reannon
I bought my first animal rights T-shirt at The Body Shop when I was in middle school. It read "Against Animal Testing" in big red letters. I didn't really even know what happened to animals in labs, but I was pretty sure I wasn't OK with it. As a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I was horrified to learn that I'm lactose-intolerant, and the first time I had soy milk, I almost threw up. Happily, cutting out the cow juice also exposed this small-town Wisconsin girl to a ton of new, dairy-free options. Not long after, I picked up a "Vegetarian Starter Kit" at a conference, bawled my eyes out, and decided that I would never eat animals again.
I do a lot of cooking, which means I do a lot of eating and, consequently, have to do a lot of running. I’ve run a couple of half-marathons and practice yoga in a somewhat vain attempt to stay limber and centered; my yoga teacher is very patient and only laughs at me occasionally. I’m obsessed with houses and spend almost all my free time watching HGTV and remodeling the house I own with my very handy boyfriend.
I'm fascinated with trees and love to dig around in my yard and play with plants. I'm also head over heels in love with my adorable mutt, Princess Sugar Pants. She was found in a parking lot on Valentine's Day 2007, and we've been together ever since. I'm good at making lists, financial planning, cleaning, singing, and being sarcastic. I'm not so good at being patient, keeping my mouth shut when I should, and just enjoying the moment, but I'm working on it. Unlike Mylie, I think pop country is awesome.
