Here's one thing that dog and cat people can agree on: Jennifer Aniston and Jay Leno's conversation on The Tonight Show about their rescued animals and the importance of adoption was the bee's knees.
You can catch fellow adoption advocate Carrie Ann Inaba on both the tube and YouTube when she launches her Web show, Crib Cat, which will feature cats who are up for adoption. We're sure she'll play fair and not give special consideration to PETA pal Martina Navratilova on this season of Dancing With the Stars.
Carrie Ann is also using Twitter to encourage people to save animals' lives. Here's what she and other celebs are buzzing about:
Dave Navarro recently asked his Twitter followers to make donations for a new mobile SNIP clinic for PETA. Watch for the inked, never minked, celebrity on Spike's new season of Ink Master.

When Meredith Vieira stopped by Ellen, she said she was interested in going vegan—and scored herself a "Glass Walls" DVD, a cookbook, and some other animal-friendly loot from PETA.
PETA also sent vegetarian GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan an on-tour care package that included PETA's Vegan College Cookbook and a list of vegetarian restaurants in the cities that he and the band are hitting.
Brit band The Wanted has crept up to number two on the U.S. iTunes charts, and singer Jay McGuiness crept up to number one on PETA U.K.'s Sexiest Vegetarian poll last year.
The smart money is on Timothy Bradley Jr. to come out number one in his upcoming fight against Manny Pacquiao. The boxer is training vegan to get in prime sparring shape.

Nothing says "Thanksgiving" like People's Sexiest Man Alive announcement. This year, the magazine named Bradley Cooper, whose good looks are matched by his good heart. He counts as his greatest loves his rescued mixed-breed dogs.
Speaking of actors and their rescued pups, Booboo Stewart showed up at the Breaking Dawn tent city event wearing PETA's "My Dog Is a Rescue" T-shirt. Booboo is one of several PETA pals in the film, so feel free to use that as an excuse to go watch sexy vampires canoodle on the big screen.
Thanksgiving and football go together like Tofurky and gravy, which is probably what Dallas Cowboys starting fullback Tony Fiammetta will be eating during the holiday. Fiammetta recently switched to a healthy vegan diet, which he says makes him feel better both on and off the field.
Would you invite Bill Clinton to be your Thanksgiving menu consultant? Now that he's vegan and reportedly makes his own cream of asparagus soup, Ellen DeGeneres sought out the former president to sample her new vegan restaurant's menu.
Celebs were a-buzz on Twitter this week, including Megan Park and Carrie Ann Inaba, tweeting about their delicious vegan meals:
ForksOverKnives that is true! Thank you for shedding the light!!! We just had a veggie "sausage" pasta! It was delish!!!! Feeling good!
Other animal-friendly updates came from Emmanuelle Vaugier and Lexie Tomchek, both of whom shared anti-fur messages. Lovely ladies Angela Simmons and Simone Reyes posted several updates about a PETA event they attended at Uncle Rush's house.
And what better way to wrap up a Thanksgiving-themed celeb update than with a few words from longtime vegetarian Sarah Silverman?

Get ready to tap your feet—the two-hour season premiere of Dancing With the Stars airs tonight on ABC, and as usual, PETA pals are strutting their animal-friendly stuff.
Just a week after she unveiled her "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" ad, Elisabetta Canalis will make her Dancing debut, and she's rumored to be the early favorite. When asked if Elisabetta's PETA ad would help in the competition, her partner Val Chmerkovskiy said, "I don't know if it will help us, but I do hope it helps PETA. Before I found out that Elisabetta was involved with PETA, I was astounded how conscious she was about animal cruelty and how passionate she was about helping animals involved in any sort of mistreatment."
Fellow animal advocate Ricki Lake could be a serious contender too. She proved she has determination when she was arrested after storming Karl Lagerfeld's showroom to demand that the designer stop using fur. And spay-and-neuter advocate Metta World Peace (aka: "Ron Artest") might put his fancy footwork to good use off the court and pull off an upset.
Elisabetta, Ricki, and Metta World Peace are in good company. Previous DWTS rosters read like the guest list at a PETA fundraiser. Pamela Anderson, Cloris Leachman, Steve-O, Joanna Krupa, Kelly Osbourne, Lance Bass, Jennie Garth, Audrina Patridge, Belinda Carlisle, Holly Madison, Mario, Shanna Moakler, Karina Smirnoff, and even judge Carrie Ann Inaba all know that the most important steps you take are those that help animals.
Good luck, Elisabetta, Ricki, and Ron! We'll be rooting (and voting) for you.

It's a good thing that my hubby, Tim, has such a huge heart, or I would probably be in a pickle right now. You see, this year, he shares his birthday with Spay Day, which is this Tuesday, February 23. Lucky for you, that means a starry slideshow of PETA's brightest and boldest spay-and-neuter ads (versus mushy photos of Tim and me on vacation in Boulder).
Feeling inspired? Great! Tell us how you'll help animals on Spay Day.

E-mail, text, and BBM all you want, but sometimes there's nothing quite as powerful as an old-school letter. Our proof: This 8-year-old's plea to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to do something that makes a difference for animals (like ending the seal slaughter!) is enough to restore anyone's faith in snail mail. Click on the letter to read the whole thing:
Inspired to write your own missive to Harper? Do it write away!

During the photo shoot for her "Save the Seals" ad, vegetarian U.S. Olympic snowboarder and charity superstar Hannah Teter said, "[W]hen I saw that PETA was involved in saving the seals, I just was like, 'YEAH!'"
Well, Hannah, you had us shouting, "YEAH!" yesterday when you took home the silver medal for women's half-pipe. With two Olympic medals under your belt, we can't think of a better person to represent our country, animals, and compassion!
Dancing With the Stars has hosted a virtual cornucopia of PETA supporters, from contestants Joanna Krupa and Steve-O to dancing pro Karina Smirnoff and judge Carrie Ann Inaba. So we were bummed to learn that DWTS planned to use a chimpanzee as a "guest judge" on last night's episode.
Yesterday morning, several organizations, including PETA, Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest, and International Primate Protection League, contacted the show's executive producer, Conrad Green, to try to convince him not to air the segment. In our letter, we alerted Green to the fact that workers tear captive baby chimpanzees away from their mothers and beat them in order to force them to perform. We also sent along our moving video about great apes in entertainment, which is narrated by Anjelica Huston.
Anjelica must have worked her magic, because the kind Mr. Green got back to us right away to let us know that the segment featuring the chimpanzee would be cut and that he would never use great apes in the future. Good to his word, no chimpanzee put in an appearance on last night's show, according to the crazed avid DWTS fans on our staff.
This just goes to show that if you speak up, good people like Conrad Green are quick to do the right thing.

Don't worry, it's not Bruno! Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba has launched her sexy new PETA ad. Carrie Ann's ad tells people, "Don't Miss a Step—Spay or Neuter Today!" and features her adorable cat companion, Shadow. I don't know about ya'll, but Carrie Ann is my fave judge on DWTS, and I was thrilled that she did this ad for PETA.
Not only is Carrie Ann supportive and kind to the Dancing contestants, she is also a great friend to animals. All three of her cats are rescues, and she strongly believes in spaying and neutering. Her compassion really makes this ad rock—oh, and the stilettos and fishnets aren't bad either!
Check out Carrie Ann's exclusive interview with PETA:
Thanks, Carrie Ann!
And since I know you're wondering—I'm voting Lance!
