Five Simple Ways to Help Animals on Facebook

These days, it seems like everyone and their mother (literally) are on Facebook. That's great news for animals! Why? Because Facebook is a powerful tool for reaching out and educating our online friends about our efforts to win a better world for animals everywhere.

Here are extremely simple ways that you can make an impact with just a few clicks!

Become a Fan of PETA

Check out PETA's official page on Facebook and click "Become a Fan" to get all of our up-to-the minute updates. You can post on our wall, comment on our posts, and upload your own pictures and videos to our page.

Suggest PETA to Your Friends

Once you've made yourself a "fan" of PETA, ask your friends to do the same (yes, even that guy from elementary school who added you last month who you haven't spoken to in 30 years). Follow the "Suggest to Friends" link to get started.

What's on your mind?

When you login to Facebook, the site asks, "What's on your mind?" If animals are on your mind, let your friends know! Post updates to share with your friends the action alerts you've participated in, how much you love your dog or cat, or how terrific your vegan cooking is. You are passionate about animal rights—let that shine through in your profile!

Share and Share Away

One of the great things about Facebook is that it's easy to have an impact every day by sharing PETA news and blog updates with your friends and family. How, you ask? At the bottom of every PETA blog post, there's a little link to "Post This Story to Facebook." Just follow that link, and every one of your friends will see that blog post pop up when they sign on to Facebook.

Explore Causes

There's a lot more to Facebook than just profiles and pages though. Facebook "causes," for instance, allow you to raise awareness of and financial support for a specific issue or campaign. Join our PETA and animal rights causes.

Did you get this far only to remember that you don't use Facebook? The principle is the same no matter where you spend your time online: Show your support for animals wherever possible. They need it!

Keep up the great work!
