Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to work for PETA or the PETA Foundation (FSAP)?
Requirements to work for PETA/FSAP vary by position. It is best to visit the Job Openings List, select the position that is of interest to you, and view its list of job requirements and responsibilities.

Do I have to be a U.S. citizen to work for PETA/FSAP?
In order to work for PETA/FSAP, you need to be a U.S. citizen or have a work permit authorizing you to work in the U.S. We cannot assist you in obtaining a U.S. work permit. You must obtain a permit independently.

Do PETA/FSAP have any part-time positions?
At this time, neither organization has any part-time opportunities. Please visit the Job Openings List, regularly to view the latest job opportunities.

Do you have to be vegetarian or vegan to work for PETA/FSAP?
Some positions do require you to be vegetarian or vegan (e.g., all PETA’s campaign and media spokesperson positions, and all FSAP’s fundraising and development positions). However, many positions do not require this. PETA and FSAP both look for compassionate people to work for them.

How do I apply for a job?
To apply for a position with PETA/FSAP, please view the job description for the position that interests you and follow the link to the online application. You must complete all the fields and either attach or paste your cover letter and resume into the application.

Should I expect to receive personal contact when I apply for a job?
Unfortunately, because of the volume of resumes received, not all applicants will be contacted personally. However, you will receive an e-mail confirmation once your online application has been received. In the event that PETA/FSAP wish to consider you for a position, you will be contacted directly via e-mail or telephone.

How do I check the status of my resume? To check the status of your resume, please e-mail jobopenings@petaf.org. In the subject line of your message, include your full name, the position applied for, and the date that your resume was sent. You will receive a reply with the status of your resume within two business days.

Once I have completed the interview process, when can I expect to hear whether or not I have been offered the job?
You will receive a decision within 10 business days of your interview.

Does PETA/FSAP pay relocation costs for new employees?
No, new employees are not reimbursed for relocation costs. However, if space permits, all relocating staff members are offered up to three weeks of temporary housing in a guest house.
