Position Objective:
To foster a community on PETA’s Web site and other popular social networking Web sites.
Term of Employment:
Full-time
Reports to:
Marketing Manager
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with the coordination of PETA’s official MySpace page and other PETA MySpace initiatives
- Maintain PETA’s official Facebook page and oversee initiatives on Facebook (i.e. the creation of social applications)
- Maintain PETA’s accounts on video sharing sites such as YouTube
- Maintain PETA’s account on various Web 2.0 sites such as Flickr, Twitter, Digg, and Gather
- Moderate PETA’s message boards
- Coordinate PETA’s Podcast
- Research new Internet technologies and develop appropriate marketing plans
- Track and analyze Web traffic and the success of online campaigns
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Marketing Manager
Qualifications:
- College degree in a related field or several years of equivalent experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of the Internet
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with others
- Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
