Position Objective:
To support members of the Media Campaigns Department in their administrative needs
Term of Employment:
Full-time
Reports to:
Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate travel for the Media Campaigns Department
- Serve as payroll liaison for the Media Campaigns Department
- Submit financial reports and check requests for the Media Campaigns Department and the New York City office
- Submit departmental requests for Media Campaigns Department projects
- Maintain and update media lists and databases
- Schedule department meetings, maintain agendas, and take meeting notes
- Arrange staff meeting presentations for the Media Campaigns Department
- Order supplies and equipment for the New York City office
- Assist with the coordination of photo shoots, demonstrations, and special events
- Perform research and other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional manner
- Ability to take initiative and follow through
- Good writing skills
- Ability to make sound judgments and work independently
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Exceptional oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
- Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
