E-Mail Marketing Assistant

Position Objective:

To assist the e-mail marketing coordinator in the development and implementation of PETA's e-mail marketing and promotional efforts, focusing primarily on the creation and distribution of e-news and e-alerts

Reports to:

Marketing Manager

Term of Employment:

Full-time

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Coordinate the preparation and sending of all e-mail alerts that are assigned by the e-mail marketing coordinator
  • Assist with researching and writing e-news content and features
  • Manage lists of e-newsletter subscribers
  • Assist with the tracking and analysis of PETA's e-mail efforts
  • Help coordinate follow-up e-mail campaigns for popular features that collect e-mail addresses
  • Assist in testing ways to improve the open and click-through rates of e-mail campaigns
  • Handle e-mail-related messages sent to PETA's news manager account (e.g., requests to subscribe or unsubscribe)
  • Work with the e-mail marketing coordinator to research and implement any standard operating procedures needed to ensure the integrity and success of PETA's lists and online communications
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills (e.g., in Word, Excel, and HTML Editor)
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through
  • Knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
