Corporate Liaison

Position Objective:

To coordinate PETA's work with major corporations

Term of Employment:

Full-time

Reports to:

Director of PETA Corporate Affairs  

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in coordinating a campaign plan and agenda for PETA's work with major corporations
  • Communicate with executives of corporations via letters, phone calls, and meetings about animal issues
  • Work with other departments that interact with corporations
  • Attend the annual meetings of major corporations to give statements about animal welfare and to make contacts for the future
  • Work with other departments to draft and file shareholder resolutions regarding animal issues with major corporations
  • Research the animal welfare guidelines that are being enforced by major corporations, as needed
  • Research and work with firms that hold large amounts of stock in major corporations that abuse animals
  • Represent PETA's corporate campaigns to the media and the general public
  • Travel when necessary to attend meetings or news conferences
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related field or several years of relevant experience required
  • Previous experience in a corporate setting
  • Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Previous extensive public speaking experience
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people in a personable and outgoing manner
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Must have a valid driver's license with three years' clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
